The reception staff make appointments for surgeries and clinics, deal with requests for visits, repeat prescriptions, dispensing and general enquiries.

Our Practice Nurse holds surgeries by appointment and you should see her for the following:

All dressings Removal of stitches
Minor injuries Cuts
Advice regarding tetanus Flu vaccinations
Ear syringing Ring pessary changes
Family planning Cervical smears
Dietary advice Weight control
Blood pressure checks HRT checks
Diabetic checks Asthma checks
Travel advice and vaccinations

Support to stop smoking clinics

The nurse is also available for telephone advice between 2.30pm to 5.00pm Monday to Friday.

Health Care Assistant

The HCA holds surgeries in the mornings on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesday mornings and Thursdays. You should make appointments with her for Blood tests, Blood pressure checks and ECGs.

Health Visitor

  • Jenny Rudge

The health visitor can be contacted on 472827 . If she is not there a message can be left for her on the ansaphone and she will contact you - usually the same day. Her special interests are the care of the under 5s and their mothers.

District Nurses

Patients who are confined to their homes and need nursing care can arrange with the surgery for a district nurse to visit. The hospital will normally arrange for a district nurse to visit patients discharged from hospital who still need nursing care.

Community Midwi

The midwives hold an antenatal clinic at the surgery once a week and are also available for antenatal and postnatal care and advice. They can be contacted at Paulton Maternity unit. Antenatal education and relaxation classes are also held at Paulton Maternity Unit.
